LINK Experimental Drug Cures Seven Volunteers Infected With Malaria Parasite | Technology Networks

Looking forward to further research on this. Even if they can't find a suitable companion drug for gametocytes, this could still have potential as a cure for active illness.

Malaria always could be cured but not prevented. The mosquito bites and puts a zygot in your blood. Once the zygot is killed you are cured - until the next time you are bitten. My ex had malaria in Africa. She never has it here in the USA, but there was a time we had it until we made war on mosquitos to kill it.

Shame it cannot work by taking a single dose in advance and thereby gaining immunity for, say, six months.
