I was born in a small town in Tasmania. After enduring a Catholic education and spending a few idle years at university I worked in a variety of jobs (in a pea cannery, a steelworks, a motor vehicle assembly line, the advertising department of a newspaper, a spark plug factory, a tin mine, and quite a few other places) and naturally finished up in the administration of non-profit organisations in the health field (medical practitioners, psychologists, dentists). Now I'm retired, killing time while I wait for it to kill me.
