I think its important to ask good questions. And then question the answers. I’m not cynical, though, despite my love of sarcasm and dark humor. I’m a professional writer and editor, with a background in journalism in newspapers and radio. I’ve done a lot of other stuff, too, working with my hands and my brain. I’m on this site to connect with folks who may ask some of the same questions I do — to chat with, learn from, have fun and even hang out with. I’m set in my ways, and my ways include looking to experience new stuff, new ideas and new people, and starting new friendships in which we don't have to work around issues of religion is a plus. Hope we cross paths …

The-Krzyz comments on Jul 1, 2019:
Many times: Flew through the air in a Volkswagen Beetle as part of a bad car crash in Sinaloa, Mexico; spent all night fighting to keep a small sailboat afloat in a horrible winter storm on the Pacific; almost fried by lightning several times in the mountains; and had my heart removed from my body during an 11-hour quadruple bypass surgery. May this have something to do with why Israel gets billions and the US infrastructure is crumbling?
The-Krzyz comments on Jun 25, 2019:
I think we need to tread carefully on this territory: Your proposed assumption doesn’t withstand scrutiny. First, being “Jewish,” religiously or culturally, doesn’t necessarily translate into support for Israel or its current policies. In Israel itself, there is more vigorous debate and opposing viewpoints than we hear about in the US. Also, in terms of numbers and financial clout, some of the most strident, pro-Israel support in the US comes from non-Jewish christian groups who believe that crisis and war in the Middle East fulfills biblical “prophesies” and will hasten the end of the world that they crave.

Reconnecting to the rest of humanity can be so healthy and joyful! I still have to manage my issues, but it helps a lot to understand that it doesn’t make me so different from everyone else, but instead is just part of the “baggage” of being human.
